AUTONOMOUS QUADCOPTER

Autonomous Quadcopter

Hello everyone , This is my final year project and I am very much interested in sharing the information about how I did this and the problems I have faced while doing this project.

The project is Remote sensing using an Autonomous Quadcopter  and in this post I would like to give a basic idea about my project.

Remote sensing is the acquisition of information about an object or phenomenon without
making physical contact with the object. Remote sensing makes it possible to collect data on
dangerous or inaccessible areas. Remote sensing can be possible through Quadcopter.

A Quadcopter, also called a quadrotor helicopter, is a multirotor helicopter that is lifted
and propelled by four rotors. There are several advantages to Quadcopters over comparably-
scaled helicopters. First, Quadcopters do not require mechanical linkages to vary the rotor blade pitch angle as they spin. This simplifies the design and maintenance of the vehicle. Second, the use of four rotors allows each individual rotor to have a smaller diameter than the equivalent helicopter rotor, allowing them to possess less kinetic energy during flight. This reduces the damage caused should the rotors hit anything. For small-scale UAV's, this makes the vehicles safer for close interaction. Some small-scale Quadcopters have frames that enclose the rotors, permitting flights through more challenging environments, with lower risk of damaging the vehicle or its surroundings this makes possible for easy surveillance .
